Sam’s Club
Sam’s Club is a chain of high-end membership-only retail clubs owned and operated by Walmart Inc., a Fortune 500 company. It is named after the retail giant Mr. Sam Walton, founder of Walmart. Sam’s Club has a history close to 40 years since the opening of the first Sam’s Club in Midwest City, Oklahoma in April 1983. In the beginning of 1990s, Sam’s Club started to expand internationally. At the present, Sam’s Club has over 800 clubs around the world providing excellent shopping experience to over 50 million individual members and business members. The first Sam’s Club in China was opened in Shenzhen on August 12, 1996. So far, Sam’s Club has a total of 36 clubs serving 23 cities in China that are Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Fuzhou, Dalian, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Wuhan, Changzhou, Zhuhai, Tianjin, Xiamen, Nanjing, Changsha, Nanchang, Chengdu, Shenyang, Nantong, Ningbo, Kunshan, Chongqing and Huizhou. In the future, Sam’s Club will continue to expand in China, bringing quality life to more Chinese families.
