Job Description

Responsibilities
1. Set up management objectives and strategies for E2E supplier food safety, including Direct import, private brand, and vendor branded suppliers.
2. Provide inputs to formulate food safety strategy based on risk assessment.  Develop and manage food safety programs to execute strategies in:
a. Food Fraud, Allergen, etc.
b. Food specification and label review, food product recall and withdrawal
c. Supplier audits and Corrective Actions and Preventive Actions
d. Food safety training to both internal stakeholders and external stakeholders (suppliers, customers)
3. Provide guidance to Merchandise regarding supplier and product specific regulatory compliance
4. Facilitate crisis/exception management. Develop new processes and enhancing existing processes to manage risks.  
5. Conduct analysis of new/updated regulations and implement food safety plans to ensure compliance; 
6. Provide reports and scorecards and coordinate with Compliance & business functions.  
7. Conduct gap identifications such as risk assessment, strategy development and other activities.
8. Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identify business needs; determine and carry out necessary processes and practices; monitor progress and results; recognize and capitalize on improvement opportunities; and adapt to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities.
9. Drive the tech alignment to build the automation solutions in supporting the food safety management.
10. Organizational building, people development, and build a high performance team with clear direction and KPIs.

Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in microbiology, chemistry, food science, or food safety related field required. 
Possess strong knowledge in food safety systems/manufacturing processes (Codex, GFSI, FSMA, etc.) and advanced HACCP knowledge
Minimum 10 years of experience in Food Safety/Quality Assurance with food processor
Plant level food safety and sanitation experience is desired
Prior experience in various food products processing and food safe production is required. 
Understands food safety regulatory requirements and safe food scientific practices and is capable of applying these practices in different types of food products.
Keeps abreast with current food safety technology to develop performance standards for manufacturing preventive controls. 
Effective written and verbal communication skills with cross functional teams and management.
