Job Accountabilities
  1.  Deep understanding on membership/club business model, “Member’s First” mindset, item-driven business, differentiation, quality and member value.
  2. Develops and communicates overall direction for Sam’s Merchandising by analyzing business objectives and members’ needs; developing, communicating and implementing business strategies, plans, Omni-channel business development and practices; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a member-focused environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning;
  3. Manages profit and loss (P&L) and financial forecasting for Sam’s Merchandising for large, complex (for example, seasonality, import), or high-risk categories and subcategories by reviewing and approving budgets for categories and subcategories under supervision of CMO;
  4. Formulates business development strategies for Sam’s Merchandising by leading cross-functional projects and initiatives; partnering with broader spectrum of internal and external stakeholders (for example, consultants, merchandising support, investment banks) on joint ventures, acquisitions, or strategic alliances;
  5. Formulates innovative approaches to achieve business strategies by developing and evaluating business cases; analyzing financial models submitted by vendors, consultants, and internal partners. Identifying projects with optimal returns and streamlined solutions; integrating new and existing technologies and processes across multiple business areas; fostering new relationships with potential vendors for new or underdeveloped categories; and anticipating issues or obstacles associated with entering new markets.
  6. Advocates new business ventures throughout the company by preparing and presenting business plans to senior leadership; and gaining buy-in and ownership from impacted constituencies to ensure successful implementation.
  7. Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent.
  8. Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to Company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices; developing consequences for violations or non-compliance;

Job Requirements
  1. Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or Marketing. MBA preferred
  2. Retail background, buying and procurement background, supervisory experience, broad-based knowledge of merchandise, knowledge of home, international retail and industrial market.
  3. Retail finance, leadership and communication, store expertise, build up close cooperation between HO and stores, people management and development, strategic thinking, knowledge of the company culture, marketing skills.
